Step by step

  1. You get a message from SmartSurv saying who the survey is for, how long it takes and what you get.
  2. Tap Start to begin, or Not now to skip this one. Nothing bad happens if you skip.
  3. Answer each question as it comes:
    • up to 3 answers: tap a button;
    • 4 to 10 answers: tap the list button, then pick one;
    • more answers (like 0 to 10): type the number;
    • open questions: type your answer in your own words;
    • a location question: tap the button to share your location;
    • photo or voice-note questions: send a picture or hold the microphone and speak.
  4. Sometimes you get one follow-up “why?” question. Answer it, or reply SKIP.
  5. After the last question you get a thank-you message, your reward and a receipt number.

Why did my survey stop after a few questions?

The first questions check whether the survey is for you (for example “women aged 18 to 24 in Ashanti”). If you are not in the group, or the group is already full, the survey ends politely before the main part. Some surveys pay a small amount even then.

Answer the question that is asked now

If you tap a button from an older question, SmartSurv ignores it and sends the current question again with “Please answer this one first.” You can also type the number of an answer (“2”) or the answer itself (“yes”).

What you will see

  • Your answers arrive one question at a time.
  • A thank-you message such as “Thank you! Your GHS 2.00 airtime is on its way.”
  • A receipt line such as “Receipt: R-7KQ2M9”.

Check yourself

Pick an answer for each question, then press Check my answers. Nothing is saved or sent.

1 A question has 11 possible answers (0 to 10). How do you answer?
2 You don’t want to answer the follow-up “why?” question. What do you reply?
