Try a survey in the Simulator
Answer your own survey on a phone mock-up, by WhatsApp or by voice, and watch the payout, without a real phone.
What you will learn
- Run a survey in the Simulator
- Try the edge cases: STOP, old buttons, typed answers
- Try a voice call
Step by step
- Open left menu Research → Simulator (app.smartsurvafrica.com/simulator), or press Try it on a live survey.
- Choose the Survey and a Respondent phone (any number, e.g. 024 477 7123).
- On the WhatsApp tab press Send invitation; tap through the questions.
- Watch Invitation, Current question and Payout on the side. A payout goes from queued to succeeded in about a second.
- Try the suggestions under Things to try: type STOP, tap an old button, type “2” instead of tapping, ask for HELP.
- On the Voice tab, choose a Language and start a call. Speak (if your browser allows) or type what the respondent says; the agent’s lines are read aloud.
- Press Reset to start again.
What you will see
- Numbers ending 0000 make the payout fail; numbers ending 9999 come back “unknown” and are confirmed later.
- Simulated calls appear in the call log, marked, and are never billed.
